Professor Karen Scrivener from the Materials Department at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lowzan gave a talk on Limestone-calcined clay (LC2) and its use in cement and concrete.
This SCM can potentially cut CO2 emissions related to cement by more than 400 million tonnes a year. CCSA members from various parts of the construction industry attended and were informed on the performance of concrete made with LC2.
A big thank you to the Kaolin Group, who hosted the event at the Youngblood Building in Cape Town.
