Darryl Epstein from Deltascan
The Inspection and Management of Infrastructure using Digital Technology
Darryl’s presentation is on the use of digital intelligence in infrastructure management. It will show how cutting-edge drone and scanning technology together with 3D digitization and engineering design principles can be used to address industry challenges.
Wynand Louw from W Louw & Associates
The Approach to Concrete Remedials and Investigation Work
Wynand’s presentation will cover the use of non-destructive tests to determine the cause of concrete deterioration of a concrete structure as well as the repair methodologies to reinstate the structural integrity of the reinforced concrete structure to prolong the service lifespan of the concrete structure.
Gerhard Woschitz from VSL Consulting
Nondestructive Testing – a Case Study
Assessing a concrete structure using NDT and SDT methods to confirm the reinforcing steel layout and size to be in accordance with the drawings provided. GPR, cover meter, rebound hammer and half cell potential was used to assess the slab. The results obtained from the assessment were used to design remedial works to get the slab back to serviceability.
