KwaZulu-Natal Branch
The Fulton Awards 2022 streamed in KZN at the Mount Edgecombe Country Club on the 10th of June 2022. Salome Naicker (Project Manager at SANRAL and Vice-chairperson of the CCSA KZN Branch) hosted attendees at the hybrid event, which was the first of its kind for Cement & Concrete SA. Guests were welcome with pre-dinner drinks sponsored by Contest Concrete Technology Specialists and enjoyed a three-course meal prepared by the Country Club.
KwaZulu-Natal projects were showcased throughout the 5 categories with the Umhlatuzana River Bridge Modification being announced as winner in the Infrastructure Less than R100 Million category, and commendations in 2 categories were awarded to the Essex Terrace/M13 Bridge Modification. Other KZN entries included the Cornubia Boulevard Bridge Project, the Emoyeni Reservoir and the eZimbokodweni Pipe and Pedestrian Bridge. All winners and entrants were showcased in a special edition of Concrete Beton, handed out at the end of the night by the CCSA KZN committee members.
Guests thereafter had a long-awaited opportunity of in-person networking. The KZN Fulton Awards was an exciting evening that successfully showcased excellence in cement and concrete. KZN stands proud amidst the many challenges faced this past year.
